Santa PonsaPosted in Resorts in Majorca
Santa Ponsa is situated on the South West coast of Majorca and is a quaint resort which has become very popular with Irish and Scottish tourists. Because of this, the town has acquired a celctic vibe and loads of Scottish and Irish bars and restaurants have been established here in recent years. The main beach in Santa Ponsa is a good size but can become crowded in the summer months. There is a smaller quieter cove like beach just 15 minutes walk away. Water sports are available for the active, as are regular boat trips from the main beach and the marina at Santa Ponsa. The boat trips are great value for money. If you are self catering in Santa Ponsa you will not be stuck for somewhere to eat. There are plenty of cafes, bars and restaurants as well as handy supermarkets, dotted around the resort. The resort becomes more lively by night although not as lively as other areas of Majorca such as Magaluf and Palma Nova. This resort is more suited to couples and families. For excellent all day breakfasts head for Arkles in the Square which is right opposite the Royal Jardin del Mar Hotel. For breathtaking views, Kelly's on the Corner, is the place to be. This is an Irish owned restaurant with stunning views over Santa Ponsa bay and the food is good quality. If it's a nice setting you're after, Da Vinci Restaurant is recommended and they also have live music some evenings. All in all, Santa Ponsa is a great choice of resort if you are looking for a fun relaxing holiday in Majorca in the summer. The resort tends to close down from around Mid May to October so make sure you visit in between these times. Click here to see Santa Ponsa hotel offers.
