Alcudia

Alcudia is one of the most popular areas in Majorca and is particularly recommended for families. With around 12 kilometres of beaches around pretty Alcudia Bay, there is plenty of room for everyone and the beaches do not tend to get overcrowded, even in the height of summer.

Quieter than some other resorts such as Magaluf and Palma Nova when it comes to nightlife, Alcudia has a more low key vibe and so is not generally recommended for the young and lively. But if food and drink are high on your agenda then Alcudia has much to offer. There are loads of bars and restaurants open until late. Most of the restaurants in Alcudia are mallorcan, Spanish or Mediterranean in style and the food is local and fresh. The main town of Alcudia tends to have more upmarket restaurants than the port but if you are looking for something cheap and cheerful, the Port is the place to be with a variety of places to eat, including a Chinese. If you are looking for British food head North for Morer Vermell.

Shopping is good in Alcudia and there are plenty of shops to browse around from tourist shops to designer boutiques. You will also come across a number of electrical goods stores where you will be able to buy items cheaper than in the UK.

The hotels in Alcudia cater for all tastes and are very varied. They range from large chain hotels to small designer hotels. You are bound to find something to suit your budget and if you are travelling with family you will find many of the hotels are family friendly. The larger hotels cater well for families with things like a separate pool for children and kids clubs and entertainment.

Whatever you are looking for out of your holiday be it lovely beaches, nice food or a relaxing break, Alcudia has it all.
